Ethical & Legal
I am fully insured and hold a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. I engage with clinical supervision on a regular basis to ensure best practice and reduce any potential harm, and this is informed by both actively seeking personal and profession development. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), as such I am regulated by them and adhere to their ever improving measures of ethics and best practice, also striving to offer due support for those particularly affected and recognised under the Equality Act (2010). Registration with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and Compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ensures the safety of your personal information and confidentiality. This confidentiality may be breached as a result of safeguarding, in cases of high risk of harm to you or others, as detailed in the Children's Act (2004). Other Legal obligations also mandate disclosure in cases of money laundering or terrorism. You have the right to request access or removal of personal data in accordance with GDPR. Complaints about my practice can be addressed directly with me or escalated to the BACP if deemed necessary.
