Our Therapeutic Agreement and Privacy Policy
An Outline
Therapy with me is centred in the therapeutic relationship itself—rooted in presence, respect, and a collaborative, process-based way of working. Alongside this, I offer a therapy agreement: a mutually agreed document that sets out clear ethical, legal, and practical commitments designed to protect both you and the integrity of our work together.
This agreement covers matters such as confidentiality, record-keeping, fees, cancellations, and other boundaries that support a safe, ethical therapy process. We will review this together at the start of our work, and you are welcome to request a copy at any time.
The information on this page is provided for transparency and overview—it does not replace our full therapy agreement.

Approach
I practise a Person-Centred Approach (PCA) to therapy. This means I work with you in a non-directive, respectful way, with a focus on your lived experience, self-direction, and process.
While I am trauma-informed and polyvagal-informed, and draw on relational neuroscience perspectives, the heart of my work remains rooted in relational connection rather than techniques or interventions.

Cancellations & Ending Therapy
-
Minimum 24 hours' notice for cancellations is requested, or the full session fee will apply.
-
If I need to cancel, I will aim to provide 24 hours' notice and either refund or reschedule appropriately.
-
Individual sessions typically last 50 minutes, but this can be discussed.
-
Relationship and Group therapy may appropriately be extended beyond the typical 50 minutes to accommodate the complexity and needs of multiple persons.
-
One session's notice is requested if you wish to end therapy to ensure an opportunity for as rounded an ending as possible.
-
In certain situations (e.g., safety concerns, non-payment, unnotified absence), I may need to end therapy, with notice provided where possible.
Emergency Contact
I invite clients to provide emergency contact details, used only in cases of serious risk.
Substance Use
Therapy works best when we are more fully engaged. While there is no judgement for use, if you attend sessions under the influence of substances and this impacts the process, we will discuss how best to support you in the ongoing process.
Communication Outside Sessions
I offer appointments by prior arrangement only. Between sessions, I may be contacted by email or mobile message during working hours; however, replies may not be immediate.
Social Media & Boundaries
I maintain professional boundaries, including limited social media contact. This is to ensure our relationship remains therapeutic and uncomplicated.
